Inspired By a Recent VRBO Experience

Last week, we went on a trip and stayed in a VRBO while visiting Bentonville, Arkansas. It was a brand new house that was simple and yet stylishly decorated. It felt so nice. I loved how there was zero clutter and everything had its place. When I came home it felt the opposite, grime everywhere, super chaotic, and stuffed to the max. Holding onto that perfection of what we had just experienced and how nice it felt, gave me the reassurance that yes such a state of tranquility does exist and is possible. Why not create it in my own home? It is not a Instagram illusion. It is achievable! Even if it takes a ton of work, it is worth it for how amazing it feels! And it CAN be done! Someone else created a real livable space like that, why can't I? I just experienced it. It was real!

I might as well share about it. It is nice to have a place to post my work and look back on as affirmation that my efforts are fruitful even if it all gets wrecked in a couple months. I have five kids and we make meals every. single. day. My kitchen is a hard working area. Here at least I can see for a FACT it was beautiful for at least a period of time. 🤪

So how do I see out this inspiration?  I went to Walmart and bought drawer organizers, vinyl peel-n-stick wallpaper, and got to work. I have done about a third of the kitchen and it has taken 2 days. I only have a couple hours here and there to work on it. Kitchens are tedious!! There are so many nooks and crannies to organized clean and fix up. It's going to take some time but it will eventually get there. I can do this!! More to come!!
