Our Library is Taking Shape

For a while, ever since moving into our house a year and a half ago, I have had a vision of having a library in our front room. It is finally coming together. We had the large shelf piece you can see my daughters working on, given to us eight months ago from my parents. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it at the time but I knew I wanted to use it somehow because it was such a massive looking detailed piece.

I later decided to make it work in my library that I was planning and went ahead and purchased these two side bookshelves to go along with it. They initially very basic shelves. I built them up to match the larger piece by adding a top structure to give them height, furniture feet, and lastly, decorative pieces to fancy them up a bit. Here the kids and I are putting on a second layer of primer. In the final picture you can see what they currently look like after the primer has been applied everywhere. It is finally coming along step by step. Next a light sanding, the final coat of paint, and clean up.  I can feel it getting closer and closer to finish line! I think I can. I think I can... :)

Below: Not too long ago it looked like this... I've been busy. No my husband did not do this for me. Love him, but it is not his thing. It is not really my thing but sometimes when I get a vision of what I really want, I just decide to learn how to make it happen. With a lot of prayer for inspiration and reading up on youtube, it comes together!  :)
